As a dual track school, Belmont has a neighbourhood English program as well as an Early French Immersion option. To register for the English program, you need to live within our catchment boundaries – some limited temporary cross boundary options can be considered if your local neighbourhood Langley school does not have space for your child. French Immersion is a district program open to all Langley students. For French Immersion, we typically have limited spaces available in grades 1 to 7 for children who have been in French Immersion previously. Placements are not “automatic” as we consider family support, prior learning, interest, and desire to learn about French culture and language.
The district has developed a new Choice Schools Admission policy which was approved in December 2015. Here is a district letter outlining the new process: Online Application – All Parents Letter – August 29, 2016
In all cases, the documents needed to register are: [1] Proof of child’s age (birth certificate, passport, citizenship card, etc.); [2] Proof of parent citizenship/eligibility status (birth certificate, passport, citizenship card, visa, etc.); [3] Address confirmation (driver’s license, utility bill, purchase agreement, etc. a Langley or Belmont catchment address depending on program); and [4] BC CareCard number for your child (if you don’t have one yet, we can get this information later on.)
Although we accept registrations all year round, if you register after March 31st, you are not guaranteed a seat in your catchment school for the September in the same calendar year.
